Answer The Phone.

For roughly 12 hrs, I tracked the amount of time my roommate was on the phone with her boyfriend and documented what I was doing during that time.

Using video and photo, the artist recorded and documented the activities and tasks she completed while her roommate was on the phone. Also, she recorded the estimated amount of time her roommate spent on the phone. By showing the things that she completed during the time period accentuated the amount of time her roommate was on the phone. The artist is trying to show the contrast between productivity and wasted time. By showing all the tasks completed, the time her roommate was on the phone seems wasted and unproductive. I believe that the video / photo mixture is very effective in conveying the activities and productiveness. I feel that the only downside to the presentation was that the video required a verbal introduction. I think it would have been effective to somehow introduce the connection to her roommate at the beginning of the video. The combination of photo, animation, and video was very effective. It was interesting and direct.

I don't think you needed music for your video. I think viewers would focus more on the photos and what's happening if it was silent. I also think you could have gone further with the idea of your roomate on the phone: maybe what she was saying, if you listened or not, if she was interfering with what you were doing, if she was being too loud, etc.

i would have loved to do that, but my roommate actually was not comfortable being in the video...so i tried to focus more on myself? i could have tried other routes though, thanks!!
